Outdoor POI terminals and solutions


 


Requirements for outdoor applications are higher than usual: Readability (daylight), temperature, humidity, vandalism, protection from UV radiation and more. It has to endure different weather conditions like sun, rain, snow... In the end the system's overall concept will determine wether it stands the conditions or not.

   Outdoor display unit

The unit contains a display with a capacitive, vandalism resistant touchscreen or non-reflecting safety glass with UV filter and IP65 protection at the front. Display and touchscreen are one unit with a little space in between which is necessary in case of direct solar irridation. The air in this space is moved by an additional fan. A specially designed black plastic bezel isolates the front with the touchscreen / safety glass. The whole unit is screwed to the front from behind (ALTERNATIVELY it is possible upon request to fit the front with studs for a front-side montage).
The customer has to care for a sufficient protection against humidity, heat and coldness. In case of disregard the warranty expires. If you want to be sure you should use one of our following outdoor terminal system solutions because we guarantee the functionality of our complete system solutions!

Product characteristics:

    Standard sizes are 38 cm / 15“, 43 cm / 17“, 48 cm / 19“
    Displays with transflective technology (for daylight applications)
    WES screens can usually stand temperatures up to 50°C, in some cases even from -20°C to +60°C (whereas standard screens only last till 40°C)
    Signal input via RGB analogue, DVI and optionally with video (composite / s-video)
    Vandalism resistant touchscreen, UV filter, background ventilation system
    If service is required the display and outdoor unit can be separated easily

Optionally the outdoor display unit comes in an enclosed housing which can be connected to a nearby PC via extenders/signal amplifiers.



   


The "Info-Wall-Outdoor" terminals are designed modularly and therefore very flexible and can be upgraded easily. Without the holding device it can be attached to any surface - with it the terminal can act as a stand-alone unit. Both versions are also available as handicapped accessible.
No other outdoor terminal we have come accross offers you those advantages.

Product characteristics of the standard version:

    Robust housing made of stainless steel (V2A) with glass bead blasted surface or aluminium with a silver-grey powdered surface that looks like stainless steel
    Integrated 38cm / 15“ outdoor display unit (see above for details)
    Standard procedure controls for temperature, humidity, emergency cutout - without coldness module.
    Power strip and active speakers are integrated
    The housing offeres enough space for a booksize or mini PC
    Terminal dimensions of the Info-Wall-Outdoor: (HxWxD) ca.1135 x 550 x 205 mm (without keyboard)
    Service access from the front via hinged front plate
    Also available with stainless steel keyboard as depicted

Option -S (stand alone)

    Rod holding system for „Info-Wall-Outdoor“ (either bolted to the ground or prolonged rods to set them into the concrete of an existing foundation, making the wall mounted "Info-Wall-Outdoor" a stand-alone object)

Option - H (height adjustable)

    The handicapped-accessible version can be used single-handed by wheelchair users and persons of short stature via keys beneath the screen
    Motorised and almost silent height adjustment up to 250 mm of the screen and optional components like keyboard or card reader
    Arrow symbols and illuminated keys for better understanding and intuitive use
    Maintenance-free operation

   Outdoor wall mounted

The variably upgradable terminal is especially designed for wall slots. We clearly want to point out that without proper ventilation a wall mounted outdoor terminal can easily overheat and thus have its durability drastically reduced or break down. If ventilation through the walls is not possible we offer special solutions.

Product characteristics of the standard version (version 1):

    Robust housing made of stainless steel (V2A) or aluminium with a silver-grey powdered surface that looks like stainless steel
    Flush mounting frame made of zinc coated sheet steel
    Service access from the front including service mount
    Standard procedure controls for temperature, humidity, emergency cutout - without coldness module.
    Dimensions: (HxWxD) Front plate 916 x 506 x 3 mm / frame 905 x 495 x 200 mm
    Integrated 38cm / 15“ outdoor display unit (see above for details)
    Sealed active speakers
    Enough space for booksize or mini PC
    Ventilation openings on the back side or alternatively on top and bottom of the device (not on the front plate). Appropriate ventilation channels inside the wall are mandatory!

Product characteristics of the standard version (version 3):

    Ventilation openings are at the front side
    With integrated internal ventilation system (legally protected). Suitable where ventilation through the wall is not possible.

   Interactive shop window solution trackball outdoor

This interactive solution provides shops with the ability to have their customers receive information via beamers or displays outside the business hours.

Additionally this will get your shop the attention of people passing by. How this works? Just imagine you walk by a shop window and realise there is something interesting attached to it. Curiosity will make you want to find out what it is for and how it works and all of a sudden you are interacting with the application.

Product characteristics of the standard version:

    The trackball and impact resistant housing are especially suitable for areas threatened by vandalism
    The (removable) mounting for the trackball and cables can be attached to the shop window or a wall
    Housing made of aluminium with a silver-grey powdered surface that looks like stainless steel
    A PS2 or USB cable (2m long) and the cable channel is included
